The IASSIST Fellows Program is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for financial support to attend the 6th IASSIST Africa Regional Workshop, November  4-6, 2026, in Entebbe, Uganda, from data professionals who are developing, supporting, and managing data infrastructures and services at their home institutions. The Fellowship is meant to provide financial support to early-career data literacy professionals wishing to attend and present at the workshop. Financial support covers conference registration but not travel or lodging.

The mission of the IASSIST Fellows Program is to provide support for data professionals from countries with emerging economies and underrepresented regions who are developing information infrastructures regarding the use and preservation of public and private data and implementing information policy decisions at their home institutions. The IASSIST Fellows Program has provided financial assistance to over 90 conference participants from around the world since 1997.

Applicant’s eligibility:
(i) Eligible applicants will be from countries with emerging economies
(ii) Eligible applicants should be a presenter at the workshop with an accepted abstract and paper/poster. The presentation should make a strong contribution to the workshop theme: decision-making and policy formulation on data literacy.
(iii) Preference will be given to first-time attendees to an IASSIST conference/workshop and/or to those applicants from countries currently with insufficient representation in IASSIST.
