Announcement for the Call of Abstracts for the 5th IASSIST Africa Regional Workshop:

Submission of Abstracts: 

IASSIST Africa Regional Workshop 2025 has a specific focus on Data Management and its impact on Development in Africa.  Therefore, the theme for 2025 is “Enhancing Data Management for promoting continuous growth and a Sustainable Future for Africa ”.   The workshop will cover topics related to the main theme and sub-themes below. The workshop is scheduled to take place from 22 to 24 October, 2025 in Accra, Ghana. We therefore welcome research papers, posters and related presentations focusing on the main theme and sub-themes (but not limited to them).

Main theme: “Enhancing Data Management for promoting continuous growth and a Sustainable Future for Africa”

Sub themes

•  Data for promoting democracy, peace and effective governance in Africa

• Effective open data policies for improved data availability, literacy and utilisation

• Safe and Clean environment: dynamics of agro-chemicals, small-scale mining and data accessibility

• Research data management in African Libraries

• Generating, curating and archiving data for sustainable development in Africa

• AI and data management

• Improved data accessibility through education, research and publication
